Unable to login - geting exception

Trying to login to an 'on premise' CRM. The system returns an exception:

Failed to connect to CRM.
System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly Microsoft.IdentifyModel, Version=3.5.0.0...

Any idea how to fix this issue?

I am logging into a CRM that is on another domain than the domain my machine is on. I am using fully qualified URL.

This does work if I'm on the CRM server, but I want to perform these development tasks from my development machine.

It seems you are missing Windows Identity Framework.
You need to install it on the computer you run Visual Ribbon Editor.
You can check requirements on the main page.

That was the missing piece. Thanks.

Thanks for this, here is a link I found useful for getting the thing installed on Win 8.1 for the benefit of anyone who may stumble upon this in the future:
