Release Notes

Visual Ribbon Editor 1.0 Beta

Main Features:
  • Connect to CRM Online or On-Premise (on-premise should work but hasn't been tested)
  • Edit entity ribbons or application ribbons.
  • View a preview of the ribbon while editing as it will look in CRM.
  • Add new custom buttons to existing groups.
  • Add new custom groups to existing tabs.
  • Define button text, tooltip, images. and appearance.
  • Define button actions, enable rules, and display rules.
  • Hide system buttons.
  • Quickly save the ribbon back to CRM

Known Issues
  • When clicking "remember connection" in the connection dialog it will save your password to an xml file on disk in plain text (do not use this checkbox if you don't want your password stored on disk)
  • Connecting to on-premise CRM has not been tested.
  • IFD or claims-based authentication is not supported.
  • Setting the sequence of buttons in a custom group does not always work (will sometimes be in wrong order in CRM)

Really useful tool. Thank you. Working fine on prem with RU6 for me. The only thing I've noticed is that if you have along list of hidden items, and you want to un-hide one, you can't scroll down below the list of items which is visible, so this still requires an XML edit. Thanks again.

Amazing. Used OnPrem/Non-IFD. I spent two days updating the XML by hand (with no success) before I found this great utility.

Since RU6 is up I am unable to make it work. Am I missing somethings? Any plan for a fix?

Maybe I'm doing something wrong but this hasn't worked for me since RU6.

Thanks for this tool, this is a lot easier than dealing directly with the XML! Of course, some features are missing for now but I believe you this tool will be improved over time. Keep up the good work :-)

Nice job! This tool works very well and successfully eliminates the need for painful trial and error with the complex XML markup.

Great start, I see this becoming a must have tool in anyones CRM toolbox. Also a great visual way to learn the RibbonDiffXML.

Impressive work! I do like the visual edition capabilities! Only three stars since I'm not fond of the graphical design and the lack of other possibilities (add other controls than groups and buttons) Keep up the good work!
